These are songs that mean something, or I associate a memory, or can just play over and over again.

Music has always played a huge part in my life, and most of the men I've been involved with at some time or other have loved music and introduced me to different artists. The result is, is that I have a very eclectic taste in music, and hang onto songs because of the memories associated with them.  I can let the man go and get shot of him, but man the song, I just have to hang onto.

In compiling my top all time 25 favourite songs, I found this almost an impossible task. As I thought yes, oh my God the memory, have to include that, I immediately thought of a few others I could have included. This does probably mean a follow up list at some point, you realise that, don't you! Anyway, when faced with a difficult choice, I chose the rarer song so as to educate you music lovers out there who might not have heard of some of these songs before.

Sometimes life in China can be quite a challenge.  It was quite difficult getting the youtube links as it's still blocked here in China for some random reason or other. I did check all the links on proxyboxonline and they all played okay, but I've just linked the songs to the youtube links without going through proxyboxonline. Hope they work. Just click on the song title and youtube should open up. (in theory).  I hope you have as much fun listening to the songs as I had reliving my old memories.

Oh thanks heaps Cindy that is fantastic, thanks a million. I really liked what you said. When I did yours it took me like an hour, I am a very slow writer lol, tomorrow I am getting your Hub ready, going to get all these folk here behind one of their great Hubbers....do you have that particular book available in a paperback, one of my family members is manager of a bookstore here, it has about 20 other stores in the chain. He said he would see about putting my book in the store, was thinking about your book too.

I'm busy getting it onto Amazon with Createspace. Once it's on Amazon, then can get some, actually, once it's on Createspace can get some, will be cheaper then directly from Createspace. But Stop the world I need to pee is available in paperback. You reading that tonight?

You didn't list "Voulez vous couchez avec moi ce soir" in your list of songs.. sometimes it's good to just advertise as it is, yes?

cindyvine profile image

cindyvine Hub Author 3 years ago

lol Candie yeah there probably would be some South African, Australian and New Zealand stuff you wouldn't have heard of in the States. It would be good to expand your music knowledge and give them a listen.

Dolores Monet profile image

Dolores Monet Level 7 Commenter 3 years ago

Cindy, being from the States and of a certain age, a lot of this stuff I've never heard of so it's cool to be introduced to some 'new' music. Thanks for sharing, what with the videos and pix, it does look like a lot of work.

You have some cool choices on here....always a smile in your hubs...thanks! :)

cindyvine profile image

cindyvine Hub Author 3 years ago

Dolores, yes, this hub took a lot longer than I expected, especially with having to go through proxies as so much is being blocked here at the moment.

Cabin Girl, we should start an 'I love BC' fan club on facebook!

Tom, glad you enjoyed my selections!

Wow what a great list! I know most of the songs and I thought I'm the only one who knows Bic Runga! LOL I'd put her alongside Anggun (Snow on the Sahara) and Soraya (Suddenly)! Thanks for sharing, I know now what to sing to put you in the mood! :D

cindyvine profile image

cindyvine Hub Author 3 years ago

Cris, have to admit, you were in the back of my mind the whole time I was working on my list. Not in that way, God! lol but I just knew you'd appreciate a good list with songs on that weren't the norm.

Cris A profile image

Cris A Level 2 Commenter 3 years ago

LOL Oh I know, I was just fooling around is all. Anyway, now I'm thinking of doing a list, too. But the problem is, there's too many that I like! :( Oh well maybe someday :D

cindyvine profile image

Whikat 3 years ago

Hey Cindy, I like your list, but the links are not working on my favorite two! "you can sleep while I drive" and "Here with me" but they are good songs. :-)

Tracker Frost profile image

Tracker Frost 3 years ago

Nice Cindy! Yeah, the song ones take a while. Decide the songs, find the videos, make sure they're good quality, all the links...

Chris, you're on a list kick, whipping out another one should be no problem. lol

cindyvine profile image

cindyvine Hub Author 3 years ago

Ah Whikat, you'll have to just type the title into Youtube then. Youtube is banned here so finding these links was sooooo difficult.

Tracker, thanks, for me you and Cris are the two music gurus here
